Anne Burrell became the executive chef at Craftsteak in New York City in 2008. Prior to Craftsteak, Anne was the pastry chef at Gramercy Tavern for seven years. At Gramercy Tavern, Anne was nominated for four James Beard Foundation Awards including Outstanding Pastry Chef, Outstanding Pastry Chef: The Award of Excellence, Outstanding Restaurant Design and Best Chef: New York City. She also received two stars in "The New York Times" restaurant critic's 2008 list of "Best New Restaurants."
